Love is Like Narcotic.

Have you ever came to a point where you are at a cross-road of whether you have found Love or even believe in Love anymore?

Just last night while I was blog-hopping, I came across an interesting blog-post by a fellow blogger living in Japan, questioning about Love, and the very same night, I came across this interesting extract from a book entitled "By The River Piedra I Sat Down and Wept" by Paulo Coelho:-

"Love is like narcotic. At first it brings euphoria of complete surrender. The next day, you want more. You're not addicted yet, but you like the sensation. and you think you can still control things. you think about the person you love for two minutes, and forget them for three hours.

But then you get used to that person, and you begin to be completely dependent on them. Now you think about him for three hours and forget him for two minutes. If he's not there, you feel like an addict who can't get a fix. and just as addicts steal and humiliate themselves to get what they need, you're willing to do anything for love."

What a description, dont you think so? You see, Whether you like it or not, we are all born into this world, solely for one mission, and one mission only - to Love. Whether its Parental love, Relationship love, or even Love among peers. We Love.

Initially, I was a sceptic when it comes to Love. I had thought that only others had the courage to Love. Now, I discovered that I too was capable of loving. Even if loving means leaving, or solitude, or sorrow; love was worth every penny of its price. I think that when we look for Love courageously, it reveals itself. We wind up attracting even more Love.

Who am I? Who are You? Who are We?

I have been utterly captivated by my most recent read;- Veronika Decides To Die by the ever so talented Paulo Coelho. I am already half way through, when this particular extract caught my eye, and I thus decide to blog about it. Here's how it goes:

"She had over come her minor defects, only to be defeated by matters of fundamental importance. she had managed to appear utterly independent, when she was, in fact, desperately in need of company. When she entered a room, everyone would turn to look at her, but she almost always ended the night alone, in the convent, watching a TV that she hadn't even bothered to have properly tuned in. She gave all her friends the impression that she was a woman to be envied, and she expended most of her energy in trying to behave in accordance with the image she had created of herself.
Because of that, she had never had enough energy to be herself, a person who, like everyone else in the world, needed other people in order to be happy.... She may have impressed a lot of people with her strength and determination, but where had it left her? In the void, Utterly alone."

Sounds familiar? Sounds like someone you know?
It sure does sounds like someone I know - M.E.

Many times I wished I had the strength and the capacity to just do something out of the extraordinary...Something that is not on my daily constant monotanous basis. Something, for myself.I guess no matter how much I wih for that, it will never happen. You and I. We're all so similar. We live for others. We don't live for ourselves. Call me a bull. You know it's true. So now I wonder, what is, the true purpose to life when we're all living in a void, alone and in denial of the fact that happiness sems far fetched.

What is happiness to you? Are you happy?
If you are; I wished you could teach me because i am far from it.

Like I said, again and again, previously:-

Baby steps; Learning, Grasping. Next step- Implementation.

Soulmate.

Have you ever read any book that changed your life?
I did.
A couple of weeks ago, I was running low on reading materials. Being the geek I am, I immediately headed towards the book store to stock up on my almost depleted stack of books and novels (Yes, i stock up my books!)
Initially, I had planned on getting some chic lits, or some romance novels as I was in the mood for it. As I was browsing through the Fiction section, a familiar author caught my eye. Having read two of Paulo Coelho's books, namely, The Zahir and The Alchemist respectively, "Brida" caught my eye.
Brida is a tale of a beautiful young Irish girl and her conquest in seeking out her Soulmate. I was once told by my best friend Juan, that everyone in this world has a Soulmate. Every one of us have someone thats born and made for us, just like Eve was made for Adam. Being a sceptic, i never believed in it - until i read Brida.
Here are some quotable quotes I found ever so encouraging and inspiring from Brida.
"Pain, loss and separation were inevitable on the path to love, and the only way of avoiding them was by deciding not to take that path at all. In order not to suffer, you have to renounce love. There are people who followed certain paths, only to be proven that they weren't the right one, but that wasn't as bad as choosing a path and then spending the rest of your life wondering if you'd made the right choice."
"Nothing in the world is ever completely wrong - even a stopped clock is right twice a day."
"People have been searching for and finding each other for thousands of years."
"Emotions are like wild horses- they demand to be heard."
"I have spread my dreams under your feet; tread softly because you're treading on my dreams" - WB Yeats
and my ultimate fav:
"When you were in love, you were capable of leaarning everything and of knowing things you had never dared even to think, because Love was the key to the understanding of all the mysteries."
So, the question remains as to whether have you found your Soulmate, the person who was made for you. I have.
