The Sea.

“Don't you realize that the sea is the home of water? All water is off on a journey unless it's in the sea, and it's homesick, and bound to make its way home someday”

I'm Yours - The Script

It's been a while since i shared some music choices on my blog. So here goes one that I've been listening to a lot lately. One that holds a lot of meaning.

You touch these tired eyes of mine
And map my face out line by line
And somehow growing old feels fine
I listen close for I'm not smart
You wrap you thoughts in works of art
And they're hanging on the walls of my heart

I may not have the softest touch
I may not say the words as such
And though I may not look like much
I'm yours
And though my edges may be rough
And never feel I'm quite enough
It may not seem like very much
But I'm yours

You heeled these scars over time
Embraced my soul
You loved my mind
You're the only angel in my life
The day news came my best friend died
My knees went week and you saw me cry
Say I'm still the soldier in your eyes
I may not have the softest touch
I may not say the words as such
And though I may not look like much

I'm yours
And though my edges may be rough
And never feel I'm quite enough
It may not seem like very much
But I'm yours
I may not have the softest touch
I may not say the words as such
I know I don't fit in that much
But I'm yours

Love is Like Narcotic.

Have you ever came to a point where you are at a cross-road of whether you have found Love or even believe in Love anymore?

Just last night while I was blog-hopping, I came across an interesting blog-post by a fellow blogger living in Japan, questioning about Love, and the very same night, I came across this interesting extract from a book entitled "By The River Piedra I Sat Down and Wept" by Paulo Coelho:-

"Love is like narcotic. At first it brings euphoria of complete surrender. The next day, you want more. You're not addicted yet, but you like the sensation. and you think you can still control things. you think about the person you love for two minutes, and forget them for three hours.

But then you get used to that person, and you begin to be completely dependent on them. Now you think about him for three hours and forget him for two minutes. If he's not there, you feel like an addict who can't get a fix. and just as addicts steal and humiliate themselves to get what they need, you're willing to do anything for love."

What a description, dont you think so? You see, Whether you like it or not, we are all born into this world, solely for one mission, and one mission only - to Love. Whether its Parental love, Relationship love, or even Love among peers. We Love.

Initially, I was a sceptic when it comes to Love. I had thought that only others had the courage to Love. Now, I discovered that I too was capable of loving. Even if loving means leaving, or solitude, or sorrow; love was worth every penny of its price. I think that when we look for Love courageously, it reveals itself. We wind up attracting even more Love.

The breaking of Dawn as Sunlight Fills the Sky.

This is the view I get every single morning at 6.45 - 7.00 AM the moment I open my door, heading to work.

Jealous, much? ;)

Its moments like this that made my Photography journey so interesting - Capturing life at its Finest.

Thaipusam

Thaipusam (Tamil: தைப்பூசம்) is a Hindu festival celebrated mostly by the Tamil community on the full moon in the Tamil month of Thai (Jan/Feb). It is also referred to as Thaipooyam or Thaippooyam in the Malayalam language. The word Thai-pusam is derived from the month name Thai and Pusam, which refers to a star that is at its highest point during the festival. The festival commemorates the occasion when Parvati gave Murugan a vel (spear) so he could vanquish the evil demon Soorapadman. There is a misconception among people that Thaipusam marks Murugan's birthday, however, it is believed that Vaikhasi Vishakam which falls in the Vaikhasi month(May/June) is Murugan's birthday

Ever since I was a kid, I've always been fascinated with all the different cultures we have here in Malaysia and around the world. Coming from a really Muhibbah family where we have different races and religion is a huge blessing indeed for I have come to understand and love the beauty that every race and religion offers.

This year, I decided I had to join in the procession. So what I did was I woke up in the weeeeeeeeee hours of the morning and join in the parade! I have to admit, it was a gruelling walk (I've never walked that much in a long time!). However, i'm sure as all my colleagues in FedEx already know, I LOVE to walk barefooted. :p I had a lot of fun and it was trully an eye-opening experience as I saw people in trance, people carrying the Kavadi, the mortification of flesh and not to mention, the faith I see in these community! I was in awe.

Being the shutter-bug that I am, I couldn't resist getting a few shots as I was making my own journey of faith. Ü

New Job. New Lease of life.

Change is always Constant. Thats the number one motto we live by as an employee to one of the largest international corporate in the world - FedEx.

Getting the job in FedEx has been a blessing in disguise indeed. Leaving behind my familiar territory of the legal field, i was initially unsure if I would enjoy working at FedEx as much as I enjoyed being in the medical law field. My doubts were immediately put to rest the moment I started my stint with FedEx Training.

I have to admit, the codes, COSMO System, and all the IT what-nots got to me initially, but as i slogged it out, I came to realise I actually like the challenge this job offers me. I love the fact that it's a whole new working arena for me. New challenge. New things to be learned. I was ecstatic! Not to mention my outbound trainings at various airports around Malaysia as well as our gateways, and our stations! I even got to be one of the lucky ones to go out on check-rides with our Mr Courier in our awesome FedEx van Ü I have never enjoyed working this much!
Come this Tuesday, I will officially be serving FedEx Australia. I know I will do just fine in fitting in. Everyone in office has been nothing but warm and really helpful. Fingers crossed I'll be able to soar like an eagle! ;)

See. Listen. Feel.

Real beauty lies not in the physical appearance,
but in the heart.

Real treasure lies not in what that can be seen,
but what that cannot be seen.

Real love lies not in what is done and known,
but in what that is done but not known.

Found this quotes as i was reading an online story entitled "A Gift of Love". It all boils down to a simple concept that all beautiful things in this world, cannot be seen, nor can it be heard; it must be felt with the heart. It striked straight through to my heart for I know, I've seen it all. That, makes me a happy person. Ü

Santorini Island, Greece

I first heard of this beautiful place from the hit movie Mamma Mia and was instantly attracted to it. No, it's not only because it's extremely beautiful and scenic, but also because of its intriguing story behind how this little island actually come about!

"Santorini is essentially what remains of an enormous volcanic explosion, destroying the earliest settlements on what was formerly a single island, and leading to the creation of the current geological caldera"
-vis Wikipedia.org

It is also worthy to note that before the name Santorini came about, which is reference to St. Irene, this island was actually named as Kallístē which literally means "the most beautiful one".
Interesting, no? Ü I sure thought it was!

Before I end, I'll leave you guys with a few panoramic views of the breathtakingly beautiful island. Until then, I shall dream away.

Strength of a Woman.

Strength is inherent capacity to manifest energy, to endure, and to resist.
- via Dictionary.com

I've came a long way. Pain and heartache are no longer new to me. Happiness, laughter and smiles; they're all aliens. Despite it all, One thing I gained from it all, is an 8 letter word - S.T.R.E.N.G.T.H.

This, I most certainly have.
I may be a fallen rose, but I'll always triumph in the end...

because of one simple reason...

I followed my heart.
No regrets, whatsoever.

Something Old. Something New.

A new Job. A new Life.
Getting used to the time change.
Trying to get use to the environmental and circumstance change as well.
Though I wished things would've been different.

One thing I do more now:- Photography.
Getting back to my old passion of being a shutter-bug.
This is one of my latest Shot.
Also one that holds so much memories.

Drops of Jupiter

Resumed my Gym regime as well. It also helps when There is a gym soooo near your office. Practically in the same building.

It also helps a lot when you're surrounded by so many people and yet non of them actually knows you. Oh the solidarity! I get to work with plenty of Boxes and Packages instead of people so I get to tune out to all the unwelcomed drama and just sing aloud to rocking rhythmns on my IPod. So yeah, I'm trying.

"I have made many mistakes, screwed up really bad, and at times have made the worst of choices. I've allowed myself to be compromised, knowing full well I was stupidly, needlessly, exposing myself. I have given away my trust with the best of intentions, whether in business or in my personal life, only to have my gestures seen as absolute signs of weakness. I've chased after things hoping to prove myself to those whom I knew looked down on me and probably always would, which only intensified my futile efforts all the more.

I know how it feels when no matter what you do, no matter how much you work and sacrifice, day in and day out, you begin to believe you're never going to get ahead, that all your time and effort has been in vain. I know that at times responsibility, all that weight you balance on your shoulders, becomes too much to bear, and all you want to do is run away from the world and simply disappear.

I know how it feels to have folks view you as something you're not. I know how painful it feels not to fit in - to keep your head down, mouth shut, and eyes closed to everyday situations, living a hollow life, while all the time there's another person, the real you, deep down inside, dying to speak your piece and burst through to live life on your terms.

I know firsthand what it is like to be nothing and have nothing to the point of being nonexistent. To be teased, unwanted, and beaten down until you have no physical and spiritual strength to open your eyes just to see where the next hit will land.

I know what it's like to be used, where being degraded is a normal everyday occurrence; to suffer from low self-esteem and perform tasks with a limited formal education; to live day by day with a huge feeling of overwhelming guilt from a dark past of long, long ago. I also know about being overly blessed when others around you who've experienced far worse, work harder, and sacrifice all the more are not as fortunate.

And I personally know exactly how it feels to do one's part in helping save the world, while all the time feeling disregarded and losing out on love and being loved.

Yet, with all I've experienced - the bad, the ugly, and the disgusting, as well as the good, the grand adventures, and the phenomenal heights I've been fortunate enough to obtain - the single element I've taken with me and that I've drawn absolute strength from in all aspects of my life is in a word: - Resolve. To be of the belief that things will get better. That no matter how low, how tough, or how unfair life has been, all of us have the right and indisputable opportunity for greatness. The resolve that if we could endure the worst of times, then our mind-set should be that we could and should damn well accomplish anything. That no matter how wretched or hurtful an experience may be, we have to summon the strength to confront it, to take charge, and let it go in order to move forward and live a full, rich life. Believe that we can not only achieve our dreams, but also muster the courage to step beyond our comfort zones on a consistent basis, to strive to better our lives and the lives of those around us."

Cuddling.

The boyfriend once told me that I’m a very affectionate person. I think he’s right. ;)

I love hugs, snuggles and most especially cuddles. So today, I was leafing through an old copy of Cosmopolitan and found an interesting article about “What His Cuddling Body Language Reveals” and though I’d like to share it with my dear blog readers.

  • He pulls you onto his chest.

While this dude may present himself as a tough guy, he's really a big softie. "By bringing you close to his heart, he's symbolically showing you that he's attached," explains communication expert Audrey Nelson, PhD, author of You Don't Say. "Holding you against a masculine part of his body — his chest — is also his way of letting you know he can protect you." This dependable nurturer loves taking care of his woman, whether he's hanging shelves or propping you up after a work debacle.

  • He spoons you.
Think about this snuggle position: curled up body-to-body. "He's a really physical person who enjoys the feeling of your form against his," says Nelson. "But while he truly enjoys the contact of cuddling, he might not be as comfortable expressing himself emotionally." Expect him to show you his affection with his gestures and actions, rather than with words.

  • He puts his head in your lap.
If you're a woman who loves taking care of a guy, you've hit the jackpot. "Men who prefer this position tend to be a little needy in relationships — they look to their girlfriends to make them feel good about themselves," explains Peter A. Andersen, PhD, professor of communications at San Diego State University and author of The Complete Idiot's Guide to Body Language. "He's also comfortable with his emotions, very sensitive, and willing to share what's in his head." This dude wants to make you happy!

  • He throws an arm around you.
"Putting one arm around you is not a very intimate move," says Andersen. "It's sort of the bare minimum — he's doing the requisite cuddle, but without adjusting his position or comfort level at all." The good news: He recognizes that close contact is important to you and respects your needs enough to snuggle, even if it is just for your sake.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
After all that’s said and done, I’m proud to say that “The Boyfriend” is a little bit of everything stated above. He’s a tough guy and he's also really a big softie. He shows his affection with his gestures and actions, rather than with words. He's also comfortable with his emotions, very sensitive, and willing to share what's in his head. He recognizes that close contact is important to me and respects my needs enough to snuggle.

So gentlemen, What sort of a cuddler are you? Ladies, what sort of a cuddler is your Prince Charming? ;)

Love & Lust.

In an attempt to be a writer, I have to write what I know. I’ve contemplated writing anything Legal, because I’m a Law student and working in the Legal line. I’ve also contemplated writing something music related, photography related or book related stuffs because those are where my passion can be found. Then I realize, what a foolish person I have been. I may know plenty about Law, music, photography or books, but it’ll never beat what I know best; Love.

Oh yes, I am, indeed, a self-proclaimed hopeless romantic. I derive pleasure in sappy love stories and romantic one-liner or quotes. I grew up hoping that one day I’ll meet my Prince Charming who would melt me like Jerry Maguire’s classic “You Complete Me” type of quote or even better, like Jack in Titanic – “You jump; I Jump”. Alas, the world we live in these days, you just can’t help but wonder if True Love really do exist at all!

Do not be misleaded by my previous statement. I am not, I repeat, not a cynic. You see, the truth is that people tend to give you all this bullshit about Love at First Sight, bla bla bla bla.. Nauseating! Admit it; it was Lust at first sight instead!

I don’t get how you can fall “in love” with someone you just saw for the very first time. Serendipity, you said? Fortunate Accident? Well darling, even Johnathan and Sara had to spend some time together, ie eight hours in the movie Serendipity to end up falling in love with each other!

Look, all I’m trying to say is this: when you meet a person for the very first time, that ain’t Love. That’s Lust. Infatuation. Crush. All these, fade with time. However, as you get to know the person on a deeper level, after communication and sharing, then, you fall “In Love” with that person. I do know that Love is not measured by the length of time you know a person. What I meant is you have to know the person, personality and flaws, to really love them, not merely by first impression and appearance. In case you don’t already notice, We’re not 16 anymore!
A New Beginning. A new transformation.

Project 2010 - in planning Mode.

I've been meaning to start a more professional blog. Been tossing between a Legal blog or a Photography blog. Either way, I need to get my props prepared first! Or maybe i should just Review books since i'm such an avid reader. So much ideas running through my mind. Let it be named as Project 2010! ;)

Will keep you posted!

These Long and Winding Roads

I'm Falling apart, Barely breathing. I'm in so much pain.
But I'm holding on. Barely, but i'm holding on for just another day.

I'll keep walking down these windy road. I may be a fallen warrior in the eyes of many; but I won't be that way for long. I'll stand back up again, soon. I'll keep holding my head up high, chins up, armored in my warrior suit, I'll keep fighting this battle.

I promise.

Who am I? Who are You? Who are We?

I have been utterly captivated by my most recent read;- Veronika Decides To Die by the ever so talented Paulo Coelho. I am already half way through, when this particular extract caught my eye, and I thus decide to blog about it. Here's how it goes:

"She had over come her minor defects, only to be defeated by matters of fundamental importance. she had managed to appear utterly independent, when she was, in fact, desperately in need of company. When she entered a room, everyone would turn to look at her, but she almost always ended the night alone, in the convent, watching a TV that she hadn't even bothered to have properly tuned in. She gave all her friends the impression that she was a woman to be envied, and she expended most of her energy in trying to behave in accordance with the image she had created of herself.
Because of that, she had never had enough energy to be herself, a person who, like everyone else in the world, needed other people in order to be happy.... She may have impressed a lot of people with her strength and determination, but where had it left her? In the void, Utterly alone."

Sounds familiar? Sounds like someone you know?
It sure does sounds like someone I know - M.E.

Many times I wished I had the strength and the capacity to just do something out of the extraordinary...Something that is not on my daily constant monotanous basis. Something, for myself.I guess no matter how much I wih for that, it will never happen. You and I. We're all so similar. We live for others. We don't live for ourselves. Call me a bull. You know it's true. So now I wonder, what is, the true purpose to life when we're all living in a void, alone and in denial of the fact that happiness sems far fetched.

What is happiness to you? Are you happy?
If you are; I wished you could teach me because i am far from it.

Like I said, again and again, previously:-

Baby steps; Learning, Grasping. Next step- Implementation.
